Olympic Garden

Hello Olympic Friends,

Now that harvest season has come and gone, our team of staff, volunteer, and student farmers are shifting gears to put the school gardens “to bed” for the long winters rest. We are planning to spend some time helping the Olympic garden this week.

Here is our tentative schedule:

Tuesday 12/4 ~ 9:30- 12:00 and 1:30-4:00

Wednesday 12/5 ~ 9:30- 12:00 and 1:30-4:00

If you like to get your hands (or gloves) dirty and relish some outdoor work with a great team of friends, we’d love to have you join our crew! We will pull out old plants, add layers of compost and leaves to the soil, and reinforce our paths with wood chips. Come for half an hour, a couple of hours, or whatever works for your schedule. Or just stop by to say hi and see what we are up to.

Volunteers– If you are planning to join us, please RSVP via email, text, or phone to Julia (907-388-5791 or julia@lcschoolgardens.org). Volunteers will still need to have their Longview School District volunteering clearance (CHAMPS) approval to participate in these work parties.

Thank you, Julia
